Paper Sewing Pattern. Girls from 3 to 12 years old

T-shirt sewing pattern for girl. Slightly fitted straight cut. Leg of mutton sleeves. Short or long sleeves option. 3 collar options: round collar with neckline band, high collar or turtleneck (rather loose). Bottom hem on sleeves and body.

Sewing level: easy

What you will learn with this pattern: making gathers, assembling leg of mutton sleeves, assembling a collar.

Kid's size range: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 years

Fabrics:

  • Knit: cotton jersey or cotton-elastane or viscose, interlock, rib
  • As an option, the sleeves can be made in a stretch mesh.

Tips: the t-shirt is designed originally with a simple hem at the bottom of the sleeve. If you want to make the bottom sleeve with an extensible bias binding, just : 1- cut the bottom of the sleeves by the seam value of the hem (you don't need this margin anymore), 2- cut an extensible bias binding of the length of the bottom of the sleeves (length measured flat), 3- align the bias binding along the bottom of the sleeves still open (before sewing the under sleeves); first put the open bias binding and the edge with right side together, then stitch, fold the bias binding and stitch on the wrong side.... then stitch the under sleeves together.
